The INTERCEPT Cybersecurity project was showcased at MWC Barcelona 2026, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to connectivity, digital innovation, and emerging technologies. The event took place from 2 to 5 March 2026 in Barcelona and welcomed nearly 105,000 attendees from across the global technology ecosystem – including telecom operators, technology providers, startups, policymakers, and cybersecurity experts.
As one of the most influential gatherings in the digital and connectivity sector, MWC Barcelona serves as a global platform where organisations present new technologies, exchange ideas, explore partnerships, and discuss the future of digital transformation.
During the event, the INTERCEPT project was represented by Marko Doltar, Head of the Security Operations Center at project partner T-2 d.o.o.. Visitors were able to meet him at Hall 6 | Stand 6E40, where he presented the project’s vision and technological approach to strengthening cybersecurity cooperation across Europe.
A Global Stage for Technology and Innovation
MWC Barcelona is organised annually by the GSMA and is widely recognised as one of the most important international technology events. In 2026, the event gathered nearly 105,000 participants from more than 200 countries and territories, creating a vibrant environment for showcasing innovation and discussing key developments shaping the digital economy.
The event addressed a wide range of topics defining today’s technological landscape, including next-generation connectivity, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, digital platforms, and cybersecurity. As digital infrastructure becomes increasingly interconnected, cybersecurity has become a central theme of discussions among industry leaders and policymakers.
Showcasing the INTERCEPT Approach to Threat Intelligence Sharing
At MWC Barcelona, the INTERCEPT project presented its work on developing a secure, cross-border Threat Intelligence Sharing Platform designed to strengthen collaboration between trusted Security Operations Centers (SOCs).
Modern cyber threats rarely affect only a single organisation. Attackers frequently reuse infrastructure, tools, and techniques across multiple targets and sectors. This means that an incident detected by one organisation can often serve as an early warning for many others – if the information is shared in a trusted and secure way.
INTERCEPT addresses this challenge by enabling SOCs to exchange anonymised cybersecurity intelligence through a secure platform built specifically for cross-border cooperation. By enabling faster information exchange, the platform supports participating organisations in:
- identifying threats earlier
- responding to incidents more quickly
- improving situational awareness across sectors
- strengthening collective cyber resilience
This collaborative approach helps organisations move beyond isolated defence strategies and towards a shared cybersecurity ecosystem, where knowledge gained by one participant can help protect many others.
Engaging With the Cybersecurity Community
Participation at MWC Barcelona also provided an opportunity for the INTERCEPT consortium to connect with a broad community of cybersecurity professionals, technology innovators, and potential stakeholders.
Throughout the four-day event, discussions focused on topics such as SOC collaboration, threat intelligence sharing, and strengthening Europe’s cyber resilience. These exchanges help ensure that solutions developed within research and innovation projects respond to real operational challenges faced by organisations across Europe.
